Fall 2017 Update from RDP Communications

Thanks for checking out the site and the breadth of experience that RDP Communications has to offer. Just one month after my last blog entry in November 2015, we added son Noah to our family. He is now almost two and needless to say, it's been a whirlwind ever since! Baby number two is due in late October 2017.

With my work at SwimOutlet.com, YogaOutlet.com, Tend.ag and Swim.com, I have not been taking on any new clients at this time, but I always love to hear from people if they have any PR questions around outdoor, Olympic and adventure sports.

I even passed on working the Olympics in Rio for the first time in 20 years. With another baby on the way this fall, it doesn't appear that PyeongChang 2018 is in the cards either. There's something special about the Winter Olympics but I'll be watching these Games on television.

Thanks again for coming to the site!

Arctic Ocean Challenge

I recently completed a short project for Guo Chuan's Arctic Ocean World Record Challenge. The Chinese sailor was trying to become the first person to sail the treacherous Northwest Passage in the Arctic Ocean in a racing trimaran leaving from Europe and reaching the Pacific through the Bering Strait.

It was an amazing feat of seamanship and it took them less than two weeks. I worked on global TV coverage and we were able to secure 2 Reuters news feeds, 2 EBU/Eurovision news bulletins, a feature on all five languages for Euronews and features on both IMG Media's Trans World Sport and Gillette World of Sport.

Along with all the great sailing coverage, there was also this nice recap story on Yahoo Sports Action Sports site GrindTV.
